Mobile 'phone boosters - anyone used them?

Hi all

Unfortunately for me I still have to work when I'm away - my own fault for being self employed. I do find site wifi very unreliable and I've given up using it.

Where I've got 3G signal then I'm OK and I use my iPhone as a personal hotspot and that gives everything I need - but how many club sites have very poor signal? The answer to that is most which is why we like them - out of the way.

So I'm thinking of getting a 'phone booster. I know ther are legal issues over retransmitting signal but I recon my chances of being caught and prosecuted for it are minimal as it won't hurt anyone.

I've been looking at this -
http://mobilesignal.co.uk/products/129/Tri-Band/ which is very pricey but promises to do the job and covers all carriers and 3G. They also tell me that it covers 4G but getting that is just a dream - 3G will do.

Has anyone used anything like this? Did it work?

I'm also concerned that the receiver would need to be high so I would have to have a pole to "stick it up". I can't see that being a problem on site - there're plenty of ugly satelite dishes put out and the aerial for this is fairly small but it would be
say 5m in the air. Has anyone tried doing this and what pole did they use?

We're off to Scotland in August and I think I'll need all the boost I can get!

Many thanks for any info and thoughts from members.
