Has anybody out there travelled the NorthCoast500? I have a 4 berth motorhome, less than 6 metres. Are there any roads I should avoid? Best month to go? Any tips at all. I am hoping to go sometime next year. Thanks

Do that aea every year. Usually go up via Inverness. Spring stop at Brora t see the Terns on thebeach nesting. Thereafter no booking just idle along.Plenty of good wild parking for the van. Fill up with fuel at Tesco Wick as the village petrol stations will
be exhorbitant. Would recommend a day trip to Orkney fromJohn O Groats. Good Cl is Smith at Loch Erbisol but the private site at Durness is superb. Likewise the Scourie private good but also good CL at Rhichonic.  If you are a fisherman plenty of opportunities.
Down the west coast again scenic with plenty of stopping places but sites a bit scattered.Kinlocheweis an excellent CC site.Best times May/June to avoid the midges, but take some Avon stuff and you should be OK>. We take 4/ weeks to do the trip.and every year
    find somewhere new.
