Dual Mass Flywheels.

I have just been advised that my Vectra C 150 CRDi has the early signs of dual mass flywheel failure and that it will cost £1700 for the local Vauxhall dealer to replace along with their standard procedure of renewing the clutch components as well. Considering
the car is 6 years old and completed 67,000 miles of which approximately only 4500 miles are towing should The Caravan Club experts consider including this item when reviewing future tow cars. I am convinced that long distance towing is the prime cause of
failure. Two caravan owning friends of mine have also had DMF failures with their low mileage Mondeo diesels. Unfortunately most modern diesels use DMF's so choice of effective long term family tow car is seriously reduced unless the item is manufactured to
be fit for purpose.
