Kampa Ace vs OR compactalite 375 vs Dorema Futura
(Hope this is ok, I'm posted in the wrong section before so have copied and pasted it here - newbie finding my way around)
I am a 5'2 mum with a dodgy back who goes touring alone with her young boys. We currently have Kampa 260 rallye, which me and my 9 year old can manage with no problems, but would like a bigger awning which I can add an annex to for storage. The Kampa does
leak like a waterfall from the awning rail, NOT though the stitching etc but from the actual rail, seems a bad fitting, so don't know if thats a point Kampa and my vans compatibility. Here are my finds and thoughts so far any experience would be appreciated.
Kampa Ace, Looks nice, opens up etc already having a Kampa already i would understand its erection, but would the awning rail leak again? Twice the price of the other opitions, would have to get the annex another year.
Outdoor Revolution 375 hex, not so sexy but at £199 I could live with that! I am aware that they had leakage issues, but they seems to have been fixed with no more problems than any other awning. My concerns, they use rear pads for the roof poles, not
done those before, could I manage those? The extra straps across the floor? Would they be hard to attach on my own? Wouldn't they get muddy and messy?
Dorema Futura 390 skylite looks the perfect inbetweener, but can't find many internal photos, so don't know if it has floor straps too. No videos on youtube, generally not a lot of info online about these at all, but look a perfect compromise.
Please feel free to recommend any other awning you think suitable. Ihave ruled out air awning, after helping an eldery couple take theres down last year, as the 'poles' are integral they are rather heavy.
Many thanks in advance for your in put.
