Isabella Magnum awning - What pegs?

I have recently changed my caravan and purchased an Isabella Magnum awning which we tried for the first time last week.  We pitched on grass and therefore used the metal and plastic pegs that came with the awning. When pitching on a hard standing what do you fellow magnum owners use to secure the pole feet to the ground?  I have got hard ground pro pegs which work fine for the elastic securing points but the diameter of the pegs are to big to go through the holes in the feet of the 4 corner and centre posts which are about 5 mm in diameter.  Do people use narrower gauge screws for the feet as the supplied metal pegs are not substantial enough and would just bend if I try to knock them into a hard standing?
