Hi! I'm new to this discussion board but I am in need of some advice from other caravanners! My husband and I bought our first caravan 5 years ago, upgrading from a tent when our daughter was born. Sadly my husband passed away but my daughter and I continued
to go away on our own. This year we decided that we would treat ourselves to a brand new caravan, my daughter had a long list of requirements the top of which was her own little area and to be able to bring a friend with her. (It's not cool to hang with your
mum anymore!) We spent months searching of or the right van. Knowing that I was using my husband's life insurance I needed to make sure it was perfect. We finally decided on a swift 586 single axle and both fell in love with a dealer special from Michael Jordan's.
We picked it up and drove it back to our storage yard ( about 50 miles) all was fine. We planned to go to Rockley for a few days and this is where things got bad. Driving to Dorset the near side wheel suddenly came off. Luckily I was slowing down and was able
to stop quickly and safely. However, the wheel bounced off down the road hitting a car. Thankfully there were no injuries. (It could have been so much worse as we had just come off the motorway!).  It would seem from what the police and recovery driver said
is that the wheel bolts had come lose. The dealer fitted a motor mover for us and have advised that they torqued the bolts as required. However, I can't understand how this would have happened. Has anyone else had this problem? It was a brand new van and had
travelled less than 100 miles!
