    My OP was tongue in cheek, however, a vast number of Brits and Germans have hereditary links as does our Royal family which you clearly know.  Do you have a problem with that?

    Of course we must be friends with the Germans - did we not sign two peace treaties with them during my father's lifetime?

    More to the point, what do they know that we don't? Perhaps it is contingency planning in case that blonde bloke becomes Mr President. Who knows what he might start.

    The Swiss have been doing this kind of thing for donkeys.

    Back in the late 1970's I spent 2 weeks in some Swiss friends nuclear bunker under their house. They make great guest bedrooms (but no windows)Wink
