Faulty electrics?

We have just bought a 1998 ABI Jubilee caravan.  Gas works ok and the lights work on a car battery but we cannot get any water from the taps or toilet or shower.  We have hooked the van upto the mains and get electricity via the plug sockets ok and the water
heater appears to be working, just pumps not working.  any ideas?
