Kendal Low Park Wood speed bumps
I have just got back from Kendal and I was appalled at the speed bumps the club has chosen to use on this site. I know and appreciate the need to restrict speed on a site but was it necessary to choose humps that are so high and staggered on the roadway that in my opinion they are dangerous and damaging. The only way to cross them is to stop completely and edge over them with each corner of the car being severely shaken in turn. The effect on a caravan going over them is to make the van tilt violently first one way and then the other shaking whatever is in the vans cupboards and fridges in extremis. The height of the bumps is such that I am sure that some caravan movers are going to be ripped off. As a driver the only way to approach them is to concentrate totally on the bumps to the extent that if anything else happened at the time there is a danger that it will be missed.
Whoever decided that these bumps were appropriate for the roadways on a caravan site has absolutely no idea of what is required and I would suggest that instead of sitting in some ivory tower they go out and experience the chaos that they have created.
