Leisure Battery Replacement

Can anybody help me? I am trying to remove the leisure battery from under the driver's seat, of a 2002, E425 Bessacarr. After removing the battery strap, I'm unable to withdraw the batterytrue to the tight restrictions. I look forward to any suggestions!
