Satellite System or Aerial?

I'm wondering whether to purchase a satellite tv system or use an aerial in areas where signals are week. We are going to Southlands on IOW in May and the last time we were there we couldn't get a very good signal. If satellite is the best option can anyone
give me advice on the best/most appropriate system to purchase? Also are there times when hedges/trees block the signal?

Would appreciate any members advice.
