Discovering Dorset
Hello everyone,
I wanted to share with you the terrific things that are happening in Dorset this summer.
The Great Dorset Steam Fair is an outdoor heritage show of
steam locomotives and classic vintage vehicles. It also features demonstrations and displays, rural crafts, music, entertainment and has a food hall of fresh made breads, country food, jams, cheeses and picnic nibbles. Tickets are now on sale and if you book
in advance, Members save 10%. The Great Dorset Steam Fair is only a 10 minute drive from our
Dorset temporary site, which is set on the beautiful Shaftesbury Estate.
There are also fun things to do in the area, like at Old Wardour Castle
with Shakespeare at the Theatre and a Summer Fun Trail. Other fun activities for the kids (and grown-ups too) include the
Go Ape!
Outdoor adventure park and Splashdown water park - a mere half hour drive from our
temporary site. If you are interested in staying, it's exclusively for members
and is open between 23 August to 8 September (just £20 inclusive).
You could also enjoy a peaceful stroll around the nearby Kingston Lacy house and gardens or if you
fancy something faster-going, why not go to the Bournemouth Air Festival (29 August to Sunday 1 September).
If anyone is going to the Steam Fair or any of the wonderful attractions in beautiful Dorset, do tell us where you’re going and what you are looking forward to the most!
