They just keep going!
Its amazing how many really old caravans and motorhomes there are about. I was looking online and there are hundreds available. I find myself quiet surprised at how much some sell far even those that look beyond repair. However now and again you do see a really old caravan thats looks superb and has obviously been looked after. At the end of the day I suppose if you are happy to do without some of the facilities offered by modern vans and are content to keep things simple then why not. Damp is the killer of all caravans but some wear better than others even of the same brand. Caravan service men tell me that the standard of work can vary even from the same manufacturer. Old camper vans and motor homes well I have experience here. I purchased a Talbot in very good condition kept it for a year and sold it. In the end I just found it was too big a step back from the modern vehicles I have got use to but it did turn me a modest profit so it was back to a caravan. Going back to old caravans I really do admire how some folk renovate them and make them both comfortable and sort after by clever use of fabrics and colours. I like the 1960s look but then I am 62.
