Which Towbar?

Hello all, I have recently purchased a 5 month old Skoda Superb Executive estate (190bhp) with a DSG gear box.

I've made a few enquires and had prices, which are substantially cheaper than a dealer fit. I have a choice of detachable or retractable. I fancy the retractable, but been told that due to the mechanics of how it works, there could be a possibility
in the future that it may where and could suffer from "play", which will obviously cause problems and not easily resolved. 



My question is, has anyone had any experience of this and would they recommend one, as I will be keeping the car long term and be towing a caravan.

Any opinions/experiences will be greatly received.

    No experience, but there will always be those that look at life as a glass half empty Wink The electric towbars look great ... or not as the case

    I have not heard of the problem. If the retractable one is what you want then I would go for it. If you feel the niggling doubts you now have will worry you long term take the detachable as peace of mind is what matters.

    This sounds very much like the problems that Landrover had with the Disco 3 removeable tow bar. If you do a google search it has been extensively covered on the various forums (including this one if I remember correctly).
