Went to this event today where we had the chance to ask questions of the Club. Glossop Caravans, Lunar Caravans, Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire Brigade were also there to give advice and answer questions.

We enjoyed the afternoon; congratulations to the organisers and attendees. I thought the Panel answered the questions honestly, even when the answers were not necessarily what we wanted to hear, with good humour, and with an appreciation of the issues facing members. The answers did reflect the Club's broad obligations such as legislation and environmental issues.

When you get the chance, get along to one of the sessions if you can. We learned some new things from the Q&A and also from tthe chance to mingle during the buffet afterwards.

Aspenshaw you have just beaten me to it by starting this thread.

The Broadway question did come up.   The answer given by Grenville Chamberlain, was in essence as follows:

Savills were working outside of the remit given to them by the club, though I am unclear what remit should have been.  The club are in dispute with Savills over these submissions as they had been made  without the authority of the club.  He further mentioned
that the club was unlikely to use Savills in the future.

He said that the club were committed to further developing the Broadway site and the only way  in which it was not fit for purpose was because it was too small to meet the existing demand and this would be addressed by expansion based on the original site.

He was less clear about the future of the Cadeside and Minehead sites.

I also had a conversation with the executive member in charge of sites.  He stated that the first he knew of the submissions was when he read about them on this forum.

During a seperate question Mr Chamberlain, stated that the club was committed to the extension of the club's freehold estates.

This is not a verbatim account of the discussion but my honest recollection.  I will take the slightly unusual step of reporting my own post.  To make it visible, so that the club can if they wish contest or correct any point I have made

Thanks from me too, Boff. Wonder if the CC will get a refund from Savills for misrepresentation?

Oh yes the the reliability survey,  this was said unprompted.  Apparently the results are still being collated and the results will be fed back to individual manufactuters before being made public.  No timescale was given to this.
