2016 Lunar Delta TS - Just Right!

After 34 years caravanning the one thing I have learned is that it is all a question of compromise.

We are changing as the fixed bed is now so difficult to make, says management, and I do have to agree as "anno domini" takes a hold and it is painful having to watch her trying!!!

However, this is the first time ever that we feel we have not had to compromise and the Lunar Delta T S has won!

This will be our first Lunar and and we were very impressed with appointment and flexibility for our use.  I am happy that Lunar still build with more traditional ways as most of the "new age technology" manufactures still don't seem to have got it
right, but then again, that is my choice.  Anyway, what choice is there if all your boxes are ticked?

When compared with the Elddis Supercyclone which we were also taken with, the Lunar's larger fridge and separate freezer (as in our present Swift Conqueror) is essential for our Labradors raw frozen food. The Lunar's twin beds are 3ins wider; the Bathroom
is enormous, as are the shower and two very user friendly wardrobes to boot!

The only thing missing is a dedicated Cocktail Cabinet so we will have to compromise after all and drink, not store the stuff!

I am having a Solar panel fitted to overcome battery and alarm discharge when unattended on seasonal site and when in storage at other times.

We collect the Lunar on 16 March and look forward to everyone enjoying the lovely hot summer we vaner's deserve!

Having had Lunar Delta's for the last 22 years I have to  say that  they have and are serving us well.We have had no problems whatsoever, but others by the seems of it have. From what I have read on various forums,I think Lunar are certainly as good,if not better than many other manufacturers.Good luck with your new van and happy holidays.Happy

We have a new Bailey Barcelona and our friends, having seen our van decided to move back to a caravan from a motorhome..  They chose the same make and model as you and having looked at it, I was very impressed.  A big factor for them was the larger single
beds than is the norm and I must admit, that if ever I were to change, the Delta TS would be high on my list although I have no complaints at all about our present van.

Totally agree that everything is a compromise.  After 40+ years of yachting - I have learned that there is no such thing as the perfect boat and the same, I think, applies to caravans.  Fitting so much in to a confined space inevitably leads to such compromise.
Hope you enjoy your new van - it's all very exciting!Laughing

We have the same van albeit in the Lexon range, its a 2014 model so got the alde heating which Lunar dropped on the lexon range from 2015.

Its a fantastic van, the wardrobes are great and the shower it very large too. The single beds are the best caravan beds we have slept in, nice and wide and long enough for the both of us

We do have a cocktail cabinet but use it as a cupboard for keys and the like. Hope your Delta is as good as our Lexon, enjoy

Your story could have been written for ourselves. We had to decide between the Lunar and Elddis early last year. Like you the width of the single beds, the very generous fridge and freezer, the massive bathroom/dressing room with his & hers wardrobes was
    the also the deciding factors.

We ordered off the advert, not able to get to the show where the van was initially shown. Ordered in February and took delivery at the end of April (one of the initial build batch).

We also had a solar panel fitted!

It has been used every month since we got it, Have to say we absolutely love it. The only thing we have added is a set of slightly darker carpets for the winter, as the original ones, whilst lovely, are very pale and do show up muddy feet!

Also have to say that the only couple of niggling faults that we've had are with third party items and not Lunar supplied.

Can't see us changing this van for a long time. Hope you enjoy yours just as much.

Write your comments here...After 50 years sharing a bed - yes our golden wedding this year - singles are not an option.  We take delivery of a new Venus - made by Lunar - on 1st April.  It is a 570/4 with transverse island bed so access from both sides,
no moving of mattresses and no climbing over the other in the night in order to get to the loo!  It looks a winner all round.  Last week we took the 204 Xplore to the dealer for trade in and he found damp ingress in three different places.  I asked the question
    - what about Solid construction?  His reply was to say that is why they are no longer Eldiss dealers.  They decided Lunar is a better option.

Firstly let us all offer our congratulations to Qashqai66 and his lady wife on their Golden Anniversarry year.

Well, we should have been collecting our new Delta TS last Wednesday but my car decided to play up so a new Air Suspension Compressor later in exchange for "bags of gold" I was then told it needed to go to Land Rover for a software update or risk further
damage.  No way was I going to do that. Updating software this coming Tuesday, collecting van Wednesday, driving to Cornwall Thursday. Well this is the plan, but we all know about those??

Anyway guys, thanks for the very friendly chat which has been appreciated and I will update at a later date after our first Cornish visit of the year.

Thanks for the congratulations.  Yes - plans!  We were due to collect our new Venus 570/5 on 18th March and go off to Scotland immediately.  However we have been hit by the popularity of Lunar.  The new van is now at the dealership but as he is so thorough
with pre-delivery checks we cannot collect it until 1st April.  We would prefer a delay rather than going away and finding we have problems.

    Hi Everyone

Bit late in following up as we collected new Lunar Delta in March but I had to call the dealers after first outing to say that I was very worried, as I could'nt find anything wrong with it!!!

Took it straight down to Cornwall after collection to our Seasonal pitch and have visited four times already. Must say that of all the vans we have owned the Delta TS is, for us any way, the best by appointment
and layout. Superb large Shower/Dressing room with two wardrobes, wide twin beds and a great interior feel of space about it.  Yes, very pleased with the van indeed and
    back to Cornwall again shortly.
