Gas pigtail quandry

I have a TRUMA gas pigtail, 600mm long & Stainless steel, as supplied by Swift whan the caravan was bought new in 2013. At the last service, a week ago, my dealer service centre said the pigtail should be 450mm. I have searched on line but opinions seem
to vary considerably.

Does anyone know what is correct or is this just a matter of opinion?
