UseUps

I have just posted on another thread which got me thinking!

We hate to waste food and often eat what we call UseUps. Shepherd's and cottage pies, stir fries and various gratins are a regular feature in our diets. Vegatable pies are a particular favourite but sprouts which we love corrupt the flavours.

What can you do with left over sprouts?

I have to agree with all of the above including the sprout comment.  Bubble and squeak is the only thing I use them in, I try not to buy too many - I count out how many for each
Surprised.  They are not a very populat vegetable in our house so I tend to be precise.

Always mix left over veg with onions if putting them into something else afterwards and it's usually soup.

Left over sprouts at bottom of ovenproof dish any turkey and or other meat make a nice creamy white sauce laced with sherry and sprinkle with cheese and bake.  Doesn't feel like left overs at all!

    Hi

Try this, roughly chop raw sprouts, straky bacon and spring onions. Fry in a wok or pan in a little oil, a bit of grated cheese, lush.

Please note my suggestion was for already cooked sprouts for use ups - or boil them before making the dish. Smile
