Alko AKS 2000 stabilizer

Bought a 2001 Swift Conqueror 640 18 months ago with the Alko AKS 2000 stabilizer fitted (no manual)I have just found out that i should not grease the towball,should i clean it all off,and how do i know if the pads are worn?
