Mobiles - zperia s3 compact or iphone 5?

Just looking for opinions. Got the iphone but its battery life is poor. Could get the battery replaced but am tempted by the sony zperia as its not a lot bigger. Hubby says I will love an android but I have always had iphones since I moved from blackberries.
Any opinions welcome folks :-)
