Are the club overworking the staff?
It is with great sadness that I have to say that staying at club sites is no longer the pleasure it once was.
Having discussed this with members on sites, it seems to be an issue about the attitude of the staff. These guys are not normally anything but the nicest people doing their best to make one's stay enjoyable but...
They no longer seem to have time to stop and chat but, worst of all, the humour in their dealings with members seems to have gone.
What has happened to bring this about?
We, the members, can only guess but it almost certainly will come from the training courses. When a company settles for corner cutting in training, the most likely result will be staff who no longer have the knowledge with which to acceptably enforce the
rules and policies. This is what results in the "little Hitler" incidents. It is seldom the fault of the member of staff!
Another casualty is that feedback from staff either doesn't get through to senior management or is ignored. Very often this will lead to staff trying to do more than is comfortable and don't feel safe to say "you are asking too much".
These are well known effects of inadequate or rushed training or poor management in an organisation. Is this what is happening in the CC?
Please take note and then take action before our sites become immaculate, sterile and boring!
I write this in the hope that it will be viewed as helpful to the future of the CC.
