Replacement Windows

Hi All, travelling down the A! a couple of weeks ago the near side large window of our Bailey Senator decided to seperate into two sheets, one still held in place with the handles but the out leaf flappingh around quite wildly. I managed to get some Gaffa
tape from P'Boro services and got home without further incident. On Monday I contacted Devit Insurance and then contacted 7 fitters and dealers for a price. Without exception they were all above £400 with one at £499.99. It transpires that Bailey, who have
yet to reply to my letter, only give one part number and that is for the acrylic window and aluminium frame. Mr Toon at Miriad, who make the windows has told me that both options are available and the acrylic window is a lot cheaper than the complete assembly
and they supply what the dealer/fitter asks for. My Dealer didn't know there were two part numbers and neither did any of the others who quoted, and |Miriad do not like dealing direct with the customer, so we are being overcharged, or so I believe, and so
are insurance companies so our premiums are higher.

It took less than 3 minutes to remove the acrylic window from the aluminium frame and replace the one in the caravan. The fitter showed me a collection of 11 frames supplied and not required.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

The only positive was that I posted the claims form to Devitt on Tuesday morning on our way to Sandringham for three days and the cheque was waiting for us on our return. That is service!!

Looking forward to being part of the community after many years abroad.
