Dometic fridge problems
I purchased a new caravan in January which was fitted with a Dometic 8551 fridge. It has 3 settings, mains, gas or battery operated functions together with the appropriate displays. This has worked very well and efficiently during our 7/8 weeks in the UK
this year but we have just returned from France after 3 weeks break and the fridge constantly cut out on the mains setting, forcing us to use the gas supply. The indicators that flashed were the mains supply plug and the audible alarm which drove us mad! The
booklet stated that this was due to a drop in the 230v supply. As this happened on several sites I cannot believe that the mains supply was low in every one. So, has anyone any experience of this happening, is it a fault with the fridge, or will this happen
every time we go abroad in the caravan?
