Hi all,in the mid winter and the current freezing conditions,i would be interested to hear the opinions/views of members (and perhaps the club too),on the use of EHU cables in sub zero temperatures.According to BASEC (,British Approvals Service for Cables),Standard BS6500 cable as sold by many camping outlets is tested for safe use down to +5c.Below this temperature the insulation becomes brittle to the point where it can break.  Rolling up  the cable at the end of a trip is very difficult as it loses its flexibility.I am suprised that very few outlets sell 'arctic grade' cable suitable for freezing conditions , i had to buy cable "off the roll" from an electrical supplies.
