We bought our van second hand last year from a dealer of static homes he had traded it in against a static and sold it on to me for the traded in price, I saw the docket and all. The van had warranty but this didnt extend to the awning. This was clear from
the begining, honestly he stated that the awning was supplied with the van, he never checked it and so it was supplied as an extra, if it was good - great, but if there was a problem then that would be ours to deal with.. Fair enough.

Fast forward to last night and we decided to dig out the three sacks and get the van onto the lawn to check out what we had with a view to having it for France in July.

Set out all the poles on the ground and there was a full set, all nicely coded with tape on the ends and no problems. the poles look to have had little or no use at all.

Opened the other two sacks to discover two awning covers, complete with zip in panels. Both in what seems new condition.

We couldn't start errecting either as the three quick lock clamps were missing - the ones that the poles hook into on the beading. I jumped onto tinternet and ordered what I'm 99% sure will work (famous last words). Sooo my first question is how universal
are these fittings ??

Now to the covers.. One is Royal by Harrison and the other is Dorema, roughly the same size, one is 950CM and the other is 900-925cm, is this close enough to essentially be the same thing ? I measured the van to be ~930cm

In my innocence the Royle seems a better quality product and I would lean towards it if it works..

How universal are the poles/bars. Would a frame from one awning work ok with a cover from a different manufacturer ??

Sorry for the long post..

Regards,

Brian
