Hi guys..

We're just preparing for our first outing with our "new to us" first caravan..

I've had the fridge running on 220 and Gas and it cools, but a bit slowly.  Our jeep is only wired for the standard 7 pin so no cooling in transit..

I plan to cool the fridge on 220 the night before we travel, have it disconnected for a few hours and then back onto 220 when we arrive.

We bought a 40L 12v/220 mini fridge in Halfords (haddent planned to but it was on a 30% sale so couldnt resist)

We plan to throw some food in the mini fridge in the boot to transfer it into the fridge when we arrive on site.. If the fridge has been fuly cooled overnight, would it stay fairly cool if unplugged for maybe 4 hours ??

We sometimes use a frozen 2l bottle in our cool bag, would this help keep the fridge cool in transit ??

Looking at the wiring diagram, and me being the tinkering type, it wouldnt be hard to rig a socket to the 12v in my boot to keep the fridge cooling, do many do this?

Any other tips round the fridge?
