Booking in on site August and September
We hey we are off to Southland on 17th, late-ish booking, last Wednesay 6th. Ferry booked, site booked - we're looking forward to it
.
Just received an email from the club Saturday 9th "entitled enjoy your holiday at Southland"; that's nice thinks I. Then I read it, all very nice
. I continue and find this paragraph
"The Club is making some important changes to its computer systems during August and September designed to improve service for members, save money and provide long-term stability. During a booking system outage, arrivals and departures on site
may take a little longer than normal as they will have to be processed manually. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
The email goes on to offer a map of the position of the site on the Isle of Wight and at the bottom a banner proclaiming "Peace of Mind for only £34", oh I thinks what's this??? Answer an advert for Mayday cover.
I'm a tad miffed about these two things - yes I accept that computer systems have to be upgraded and maintained, but in the middle of the holiday season and you are a 'holiday' operation????? We all know about the trouble and outages, in the current word
speak, when we use this forum. Secondly I have the cover I need in place and think it a bit naughty to tag on the advert.
Am I being sensitive and sensible about planning maintainance??
I have posted this in General Chat because I think it is something to have a general chat about
