Abbey Wood or Crystal Palace

We are thinking of taking the van to South East London, either Abbey Wood or Crystal Palace. Can anyone give me some advice as to how easy or difficult it is negotiating the roads in that area with a fairly large caravan. We've been to many places in the
UK but never into London.
