Yes folks we were saved a pitch by the warden, marked with a cone Laughing.  We have never had this treatment before and were completely surprised to find we had been granted this 'service' on this ocassion!

We pulled up for our 2 night stay in Powburn and were greeted personally, by name, by the delightful lady warden and told 'we've saved you a pitch'.  She went on to say that there was an electric supply problem to the pitch and we would have electric as a temporary solution had be sorted as the repair couldn't happen until Monday - we arrived Friday.

The reason this lovely, yes it really was a good pitch, was allocated to us?  We were a short stay (2 nights) and all other arrivals were longer stays.  This meant no one would be inconvienced by a repair and have to disrupt supply to their fridge etc.

The warden had put in a cable (dare I say this??) from a further distant bollard, cut the wood to accommodate it at the sides of the gravel path, and buried it under the gravel leaving us to connect our EHUHappy.  No tripping hazard for anyone using the path or on pitches.

Fantastic stay, beautiful site, lovely wardens.  We even saw an adder on the nature walk, something I've not seen since childhood, so all round a GREAT visit.

Goes to show that special arrangements by wardens are generally done for the benefit of ALL the site users.
