Disabled Plots on Club Sites!
I would like to know, who decided to site all disabled plots right opposite every toilet block?
Did they assume that all disabled persons only have trouble with their walking?
Was any disabled group asked for their opinions?
My observations from experience:
Every time I request a plot where I can get easy access, I have to set up in the most noisiest and busiest area on site i.e. opposite the toilet block. Wake-up call is always around 7am, sometimes earlier, with early get-away caravanners emptying their barrels
together with camper vans emptying their tanks etc. Being polite and friendly to others means that I have to acknowledge passers by every few minutes of my 'relaxed' day!
When I asked the warden if I could be sighted slightly away from the T/B, he said no and that if you don't take the designated plot we offer, you will have to take your pick of what’s available on arrival.
Can I explain that there are numerous different disabilities of which I have several? Sleep doesn't come easy but when it does, I don't enjoy being constantly woken up by noise both day and night. Let’s be honest, if fit and healthy caravanners are disturbed
any time during the night, they have grounds to complain. Why can't disabled people have the right also?
Put overnight stoppers and weekenders opposite the toilet block and see how they cope?
