Data Protection online Site Booking Braemar

I have just attempted to book a site online at Braemar. In order to book I have to disclose :-

a) My nationality

b) Which language I speak

c) My mobile phone number (a landline is not enough)

 

I am pretty surprised that in this context an affiliated site is seeking to ascertian ethnicity information. It seems quite wrong. In fairness I should say that I have been able to book the site by telephone without giving that info .
