Home made devices to save you cash.. what's yours?

I was onsite a week or so ago and filling my aqua roll by aiming the tap at the hole in the aqua roll (been meaning to get a hosepipe etc). But someone came along with a great invention! at bit of 34mm drain pipe about 2ft long with a drilled hole and a
pull cord, they placed it in the aqua roll and over the tap end and pulled the cord tight! job done.

Thought that was i right invention worth making for cheap
