To Cover or Not to Cover?

I don't currently have a cover for my caravan. It is stored in my parents garden and gets a lot of mess from tress, birds etc. I'm wondering if a cover would help but had read things saying not to use them as they will scratch the windows and cause condensation.
I've been looking at the olpro caravan cover. Does anyone have any thoughts?
