Theft alarm drains battery
We bought a used Lunar caravan last year which, unlike our previous van, has a theft alarm fitted. We are planning on using it after Easter but know from what happened last year when we used it that the battery will be flat due to the flashing light on
the ceiling indicating the alarm is working. Even after towing some distance and thereby charging the battery from the car, when we reached the sites we found that there wasn't enough charge in the battery to power the mover - thus making it useless. As the
caravan is kept in storage some 30 miles from where we live, it isn't always practical to recharge the battery at home before we leave. Is there some way of disabling the alarm so that it isn't on constantly, thus draining the battery? As the storage area
is securely locked and undercover, there really is no need for the alarm to be operational whilst in storage, so we would be perfectly happy for it not to be on when we are not using the van.
