Fault with CL search engine

I realise that a previous discussion on this issue has been moved by a champion, however, as a CL owner I feel that it is important to flag up in this thread that the CL search engine is not locating any sites in England at present. We are still out here and hopefully this problem will be addressed ASAP!

and what are the chances of it being fixed before Monday! Don't suppose we will ever be told what caused the problem but looks like somebody made a change on Friday afternoon, did a quick check to make sure that the search for club sites was Ok and then
went home. I really hope I'm wrong.

I feel for the CLs that are losing business through this.  I've tried emailing the club but all the email links to the club don't work either!

Write your comments here... I agree with you. It was more appropriate in this section so that people looking to book a CL could realise something was amiss rather than the Help and Feedback section which wouldn't be my first choice to find out whats happening
to CLs. However I hope this new thread isn't moved and that it helps CL searchers out.

Was going to review a CL we have just returned from, in search engine the name comes up but then says not found search again. So tried to search via county, Cambridgeshire is not listed but lot's of archived cl's are! If you are searching for a CL for tonight
and you haven't got access to the CC book good luck!

<Conspiracy theorist> Perhaps the rising prices have prompted too many to seek CLs and this is a quick defence mechanism </Conspiracy theorist>

That's the reason we chose the cl I'd like to review, much cheaper when compared to club sites in the same area it was a no brainer to use cl.

Maybe Grenville doesn't want us ripping off the back of our caravans while negotiating a hump on a CL?  Laughing

I am annoyed! Very annoyed! I opened a thread regarding this on Friday, and then reported my own thread to try and get some action. It is now Sunday, and I have heard nothing, not even the bog standard email about how much mail they get, let alone someone
trying to fix what is a huge part of the Club's business. CL owners must be tearing their hair out as members try to contact them, while members must wonder what the heck is going on! Yes, I can use the handbook, usually do in fact, but that isn't the point,
a lot don't and this is why I reported this issue.

This Club is letting it's members down on a regular basis, one way and another. Time for HQ to prioritise some badly needed aspects of basic service and start delivering on promises! New website? That promise is now over a year old, and fee paying members
    are getting very fed up!

I will report back if I am emailed.

This is a sad state of affairs, a business is run 24/7 and IT should be no exception. Never have I come across a business that caters for a 24/7 leisure industry that goes home on a Friday and ignores their responsibilities until Monday.

Why you are harming the CL network like this is beyond belief.

I have copy/pasted my post into the report post, which will do no good other than vent my frustration.

Sometimes the only way to get anything done on here is to transgress the at times petty rules! If I put a few swear words in, or call someone names, or question someone's parenthood, it will get illicit some form of action. My original post has been closed,
all amalgamated into this alternative thread. Let's just hope a staff member is paying attention and this essential bit of the website is sorted. Undecided

Many businesses request that yiou go paperless however if there is a computer glitch or your computer crashes, everything is lost which is why we request all bank statements etc on paper despite their many pleas for us to go paperless.

If the CC was paperless, no one would be able to phone and book a pitch on a CL or a CC site if that part was affected.

Below is a copy of the post I put on the CT help thread a couple of hours ago

Don't know if i'm being cycnical Laughing but if this was a club site problem it would have been sorted in hours.  CL owners have
just got to wait for the club to get back to work on Monday. Bet the club doesn't compensate CL owners for loss of business!

At this time of year I expect to get at least 1 booking most days and especially at weekends. Guess what...not a single booking since the website went down! And yes I am tearing my hair out!

PS my website is still working and despite being on holiday am still keeping it up to date!

A 24/7 business that doesn't have IT cover over a weekend in this day & age is unbelievable. If I was a CL owner I'd be extremely miffed.

I too am a CL owner and, like Alan, I am on holiday in my caravan, we've been away since last Wednesday and home tomorrow. I have my mobile with me which receives my emails and in the van is my laptop from which I manage my online booking system. I can also
dial into my home phone to pick up any messages and return calls, as I did yesterday. On a Saturday and Sunday too shock horror!!  I am shocked by the lack of support from HO regarding this technical glitch.

If you would like to visit us but can't find us on the search facility at present, take a look at our website where you can email from or book online.

As a CL owner I feel a bit of a second rate citizen with regards to the Club website, we are hidden away on the main site and now on the APP the default search always favours the Club sites
when a considerable amount of members don’t use Club sites and are only members to use the CL network and now we have been completely wiped out for the last two days.

The Club has over 900 staff and an annual turnover of around £100 million and IT department that doesn’t work at weekends?

    Thank you Caravan Club!

Why don't you just look the site up in your site directory? All the info you'd need to book the site will be in there, unless of course it's a CL that's only recently, within the last 18mths, been opened.

Why don't you just look in your site directory & site map for a site in the area you want to visit? All, apart from those open within the last 18mths, will be in there. It may take a bit longer than normal, but it's not the end of the world if you are desparate to find a CL.
