Satellite TV and subtitles on programmes

My wife is dependent on the subtitles on TV programmes. We find that although the programmes start with subtitles, after a while they 'freeze' because the signal is presumably not consistent. What we would be interested to know is if we invested in a satellite
dish, would this solve the problem? Does anyone have experience of this?
