Rallying one year on and loving it
After many years of camping, caravaning and motorhoming we decided to join our local centre on the Isle of Wight, last June and we felt very welcome. One year on, we can honestly say rallying has added a new dimension to our motorhoming. Our initial foray
into rallying was somewhat tentative, having heard a few negative tales about it. Being ageing hippies and wanting to do our own thing we suspected we probably wouldn't take to it. We were wrong however and have rallied very happily both on the island and
the mainland this last year. Other centres have made us very welcome, especially Devon and Cornwall.
There is usually a programme which you can follow or not as the mood takes you and lots of opportunity to do just as you like on a rally. It costs very little and you get to meet people, see new places and have a very relaxing break.
We have just returned from our fifth rally on the island at Limerstone Fishing Lakes. This is a new venue in an absolutely beautiful setting. It is shortly going to open as a CL and we would thoroughly recommend it to people who want to enjoy lovely scenery
combined with a bit of fishing. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The surrounding countryside is near the coast, it's good for walking and cycling and it's only a short walk into Brighstone if you need supplies or fancy a beverage or two! Perfect!
Rallying is a bit like a Carry On film sometimes!!
So we are going to Carry on Rallying!!
