Single Bed Toppers

I know a while ago there were some discussions re toppers/memory foam. We have a Cadiz and whilst the beds are comfortable after a week the back starts to ache!

So considering toppers and have a few questions

1. Is it better to have the pocketed memory foam or is the flat memory foam as good?

2. Looked at the toppers from Duvaley (pocketed) and Jonic (flat) Any opinions?

3. Also seen cheaper versions but not cut to size, how easy is it - we're not very practical

4. Any other options?
