If you have non caravanning friends that want to holiday with you, we can highly recommend a B&B in Northumberland that is next door to a touring caravan site.

The town is Wooler (situated between Alnwick and Berwick on Tweed) which is close to the coast and has some very nice restaurants which are all within walking distance. The B&B is http://bridgendwooler.co.uk and the    caravan site is Riverside Park. Sorry
