Hi All,

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, hoping to return to touring this year after a break of about 3 years. We have been sharing a static caravan with a relative during this time of which has since been sold. We are hoping that we will get away for a few
weekends here and there this year, with more touring and possibly longer durations next year 2015.

Luckily we didnt sell our tourer, she has been kept at the storeage during this time, I didnt want to sell her as I knew sharing the static was a short term solution and I hoped we we would return to touring at some stage.

We have a 2002, Swift Challenger 490, and she is still in great condition, just a few minor marks that you'd expect. I have her booked in for a full service in February to get her ready for the season.

We would love to upgrade her for a new model, especially one with a seperate shower rather than the all-in-one washroom type we currently have. However at the mo finances dont allow and I suppose we should get back into the swing of things again before investing
lots of money, when we have a perfectly good caravan sitting there that is fully paid for.

A queiry I do have though is other peoples caravans..... it seems more and more people seem to have brand new caravans, even new people starting out seem to be buying new.... is this the case?? Is caravanning becoming a hobby for only the people that can
buy new. Our first caravan only cost us £1500 then we upgraded to our current 2002 Swift of which was 4 years old when we bought it.

Also over the past 3 years or so that we have been absent, has there been much that has changed.. or any advice you can give for a returninng family.

I'll probably have more questions and queries as time goes on.

Cheers.
