Disappearing CLs

I'm trying to book a CL in West Wales, near Cardigan for August. Although they are in the latest handbook, I've now found 3 that don't appear to exist. The last one, Pen-y-Feidir, Newport, looks just about right for us however, what's happened to it?

If a CL is no longer operating, but it's still in the handbook, The CC should tell you this when you do a search on their website. It's not very helpful just to say "NO MATCHES FOUND"!

The club put all the CL closures in the magazine each month, as the Sites Directory is out of date almost as soon as it's received Sad I have
noticed that when getting the list of counties up using the website that there are lots on the list that say "archived" assumed they were the closed ones?Undecided

Pen-y-Feidir was shown as closed in the July 2015 magazine. I always markoff in my Site Directory those sites that are shown as closed each month. That way I don't have to check on-line to see if the site is open. Doesn't alwys work but it does stop me trying
    to book those sites.

I always update my book as well. I sometimes wonder though whether some of them have gone 'commercial' and are actually still available.

Use the CC website, it is updated very regularly.  No need to keep updating the paper sites book from the magazine.  Have a bit of confidence in the CC IT system.

The website is not very accessible from a layby in the middle of nowhere. The book is in the car.

Write your comments here...But it is available before you start your journey from your previous site, or home, whichever is applicable.  There's always a way CY  Wink

However K, it's not always possible to access the web site on certain CL's whereas the book can be read there. Some of us still like to search for follow-on sites without booking.
