I known it's not caravaning, but we are going to Vietnam on a package holiday. Most of the food eg is included, so we will only require money for incidentals, drinks etc.USA dollars we are told are generally accepted, but we are unable to find out roughly
how much  Vietnamise Dong we should take with us. Any suggestions please.

Can't help on what you'd need there, but we are off to Thailand, everyone tells us how cheap it is, what does that really mean?  Unlike you apart from breakfast for 5 mornings food is not included, but we have paid for the trips we want in Bankok, so really
just food for 3 days there and then we're on an island for 6 days.  Took a guess and opted for about £600 for 2 of us.  Also got a debit card with 0% commission on cash withdrawals abroad so will use that if we run short, but I don't expect too
    Wink

To be honest I cannot remember the £ sterling I changed into Dong but I did come out of the bank a Vietnamese millionaire.I would guess around £500 for a two week visit.I am not going to spoil it but the country is amazing, and we did the Top Gear itinerary.
I hope your route includes Halong Bay , Hue etc.

Like Bakers message above we take a 0% post office credit card for hotels bills.

There are still reminders of the War present. And the Chu Chi war tunnels an experience.

    Enjoy your holiday.

Thank you both, we were thinking along the same lines, nice to have confirmatiion.

Yes we are going to Halgong Bay. This trip we are going with Titan, sitting back and letting them take the strain for a change as it were.
