Old caravan help
I am the proud owner of an Abbey Stafford which whilst not exactly new, we love. When we went to look at it we knew that the floor had delaminated and needed work, which we got done and the floor is now beautifully sound and solid. Whilst it was at the repairers being done, they discovered that the body was coming away from the chassis so we paid out to have that fixed too. By this time we had spent more money than we could have bought a much newer van for but we love her! Lol.
Due to various family issues we did not get to use the caravan last year but are planning on doing so this year at last. We are going to get it serviced but are a bit worried about the water heater which is a Carver Cascade 2 and no longer made. If it proves to be faulty does anyone know if you can fit a new one of a different make? I am guessing that getting parts for the Carver could prove difficult or impossible. I think we will also need to replace the fridge as the one in there is past it's best but that is no big problem.
Please, no replies telling us we are stupid or that we have spent more than the caravan is worth! We know we are daft but the bottom line is we love the caravan, the layout is perfect and it just 'feels' right!
Has anyone else got an older caravan that they have stuck by and spent money on or can offer any advice re the water heater?
Thanks loads folks!
