Rookesbury Park Query?

Was thinking of visiting Rookebury Park next year for the 1st time, but having 2nd thoughts after reading 2 worrying October reviews for this site. Reports of shoots happening near site boundary and stray pellets peppering cars and caravans and hitting a
child on the arm. We have a dog and aim to walk through the Forest of Bere to Wickham and also use the dog field, so we are concerned as to how often this happens or to avoid the site atogether, it's a shame as all other reviews make it sound the perfect site
for us.  Can any one shed more light on this,we'd be grateful. Thank you.
