Travelling to South Lakes from the East (A66)

Hi folks, doing this trip in the car I would come off the A66 towards Kirby Stephen and down to Tebay. This road is quite hilly. I have never travelled this way towing the caravan. I wondered if this was still the best way when towing or would it better/quicker
to stay on the A66 to the M6 and just go down the M6. Any advice from those experienced towers out there.

As you probably know, HGVs are banned in Kirkby Stephen. But that doesn't mean you can't take a caravan through, there are a couple of sites at KS itself.
If you have plenty of power for towing I'd say go via KS. If not, play safe and do the A66.

Should be no problem, especially coming in from the East. Just take it steady.
