Just a warning to other motorhome and caravan users.

We have just had a very rather unfortunate incidence with our Maxview satellite dome (only 5 months old) coming completely detached from the roof of our motorhome on the A130 today, we was traveling about 57 mph on the inside lane of a dual carriageway when
we heard a rather loud noise and looking in the rear view mirror saw our sat dome including the base falling onto the road behind us, fortunately the car behind missed the falling satellite unit, we do not want to even think what might have happened if it
had gone through the windscreen of a car traveling at 70mph in the fast lane,

Luck was on our side, we pulled into a lay-by approx 500yds and I ran back wearing my Hi-Vis jacket on
the grass verge and cleared the carriageway of the debris from the middle of the fast  (what a stupid thing to do but could you leave it there and Wait and
see an accident
happen right in front of you, well  I couldn't) on a motorway I would have had thought twice, approx 50 cars and an ambulance on its blues and 2s had to swerve  around it,  Why did
the complete unit come loose from the roof, no idea,  but we will be finding out why, please note, it was fitted by the company we purchased the new motorhome from in March of this year, why am I telling you this, I had no reason to believe my sat dome was
not fitted correctly, all I am asking is you check your sat dome and make sure it's safe.

Luck was on our side today
