Our energy supplier has set up a competition looking for suggestions on making energy savings. I came up with the following ideas :-

Tips on energy savings, brought to you by –Smart thinking Outside the Box - (SOB)

Identify the source of energy wastage within the household. This will inevitably involve :-None household bill payers, Unemployed, Teenagers, Students – (NUTS)

Identify the household habitat most frequented by NUTS – bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen.

Undertake the following energy saving measures on the targeted NUTS area of household :-

Reset heating thermostats to 10C or frost stat

Reset shower to 15C and disconnect hot water supply to bath

Replace all light bulbs with maximum 5 watt or candle light and only have one per room.

Remove all fuses from none essential electrical equipment, TV’s, computers, musical equipment, hair dryers etc.

Install none-accessible timed shut off/clock to cookers, microwaves, hobs and ovens – ideally set to two 15 minute periods during daylights hours.

Security lock all food cupboards, fridges and freezers.

Measures guaranteed to achieve maximum energy and cost savings at a minimum amount of capital expenditure.

A SOB story for NUTS energy savings!!!

.....apparently the suggestion was 529 letters too long and was rejected!!!
