I'm not really a big TV watcher or cinema goer but is anyone else looking forward to the finale of Peter Kay's Car Share? The preceding episodes have been full of humour with very cleverly scripted plots, hopefully this will not disappoint like so many bolt on 'final' episodes of other much loved programmes.
Did anyone else watch the BBC adaptation of King Lear last night? It had a stellar cast and brilliant performances by Anthony Hopkins and Jim Broadbent in particular. I'm not always impressed by "updated" adaptations of Shakespeare, but this one stayed pretty true to the original script and certainly hit the spot for me.
A welcome return for this brilliant BBC series. No Martin Hughes Games this time sadly but it's still going to be a viewing must over the next couple of weeks.
Anyone watching this four part series with Lee Ingleby who has been release from prison on a technicality having served seven years for murdering his wife but he maintains he is innocent of the crime. The police decide to reinvestigate the case but in doing so open so many cans of worms!!! It is being broadcast over four…
Without wanting to promote a political debate, did last night's event not provide even more proof that everyone dislikes us??? I put fresh batteries in my hearing aids, bought nibbles and a few beverages and personally thought our entry was one of the better attempts from recent years. Yet, even after a stellar performance…
Final part next week. I have been enjoying this three part Agatha Christie melodrama on the BBC but who did it then, I can't make up my mind?!
I really liked the first series of this programme but we missed a couple of episodes because we were abroad. As ITV catch up is so rubbish I actually purchased the DVD so that I could see the outcome!!! It's written by the creator of The Bridge, the Swedish/Danish crime drama. So I was looking forward to the second series,…
We went to see this show at Bristol Hippodrome last night. For those of a certain age who enjoy music of the early 60s/70S it's a brilliant evening featuring some of the best pop songs of that era. The singer playing the lead role's voice was a little harsh for my taste, but it didn't detract from an excellent evening out.…
Just watched the Ewan and Colin Gregor about the RAF and its 100th birthday. For those that like men and machines it could be an interesting watch. Lovely to see the interviews with surviving members of the service, especially the two ladies of the ATA who delivery new planes to the RAF bases. David
Mrs M has insisted I "give it a chance" before I start moaning about it! Oh dear, poor old Brucie must be spinning in his grave. It's just dire, and that's putting it politely. OK darling, when can I start moaning?
