Re: What are you all up to
Set off this morning, the end goal being Scotland. Currently on a CL just outside Middlewich (Cheshire). Here for two nights before moving on to Pocklington (Yorks). We’ve used this CL before as it’s handy for the M6. Leccy and good modern facilities (shower/wet room), £24 a night. Edit, it’s £23 a night.
Re: What are you all up to
Went outside and heard the garden give a big sign of relief. After 8 weeks we’ve finally had 24 hours of gentle rain.☔️
Picked up the van from the dealer this morning after its axle change. Lots of new parts, so really made up. Part load the van so nearly ready for our trip to Hampshire on Friday
Re: What are you all up to
Not a bad day here in East Yourkshire.... quite a sunny day. We've had a drive up to Filey today. Sadly the tide was in so couldn't get on the beach. Managed a visit to the Lighthouse Cafe though... 😀😀

Re: Loss of Site Shops on remote rural sites
But it’s St Ives!😲 It’s one of the last places in Cornwall I’d choose to visit - hordes of tourists, awful parking, thieving seagulls….. Nope, there are far nicer places to go.
Re: Terrified of towing
Cat23, it’s the max fully laden weight you need to consider - the Maximum Technically Permitted Laden Mass. It will be on the caravan's weight plate. If you exceed that, you will be breaking the law. You need to know for sure that when fully loaded you are below that weight. I'm afraid "about" the MTPLM isn’t good enough. It needs to be under the Max. Your estimate of 1800kg only allows you a payload of 120kg which is nothing and, if you have a mover fitted, it will use 30+kg of that payload.
Sorry if I sound a bit harsh but I’m trying to keep you safe and legal. I'm more than ever convinced now that your caravan is a mis-match for your current car and think you’ll find a terrific difference with the new car. 👍🏻
Re: Daleacres Club Campsite in Kent
It might be a bit much for young children, but it's a lovely ride.
As someone has said the RHDR is really worth a visit - a must if you're in the area.
I used to stay at Greatstone as a boy, every Easter, so it has a special place in my heart. The beach and the sand dunes are wonderful - if the weather is good.
Re: Terrified of towing
Thank you that is such useful information I am definitely going to do a towing course
