Re: What are you all up to
Had a lovely surprise, this morning. While I was out for my hospital appointment - our neighbour's children - Stanley (8) and Toby (4) came round with a bottle of wine (supervised by mum!) and a thank you card. Stanley has been saving up for ages for a new BMX bike (he had a new bike not so long ago, but apparently, BMX bikes are now back "in"). He's been earning pocket money from us for feeding the fish while we are away and doing jobs at home. A few weeks ago, I did a deal with him (after discussing with mum and dad), that if he did all the things he had to do before the end of term (spelling tests etc etc), I give him what he was short of to get the bike. Anyway - he did it - and more (which I knew he would!) Bike arrived yesterday - got to say, it's very smart and he's obviously very proud of it. (Don't worry though - we didn't leave Toby out😀)
Mixed result at hospital this morning. Very nice consultant but I have to say he baffled me with science a bit. I didn't realise arthritis was such a complex subject. Although he hasn't yet ruled it out completely, he doesn't think my immune system is attacking my joints. However both hips are shot due to osteoarthritis, as is the bottom of my spine but I have to have some more ultrasound tests before he can completely rule out some form of inflammatory arthritis.
I did ask him how bad it had to be before I was entitled to a Blue Badge and he cheered me up a bit saying that I was more than entitled to have one and he would support my application and will write to my GP accordingly. At least that will make getting about a bit easier.
Sounds like you've had / are having a very busy family time @heddlo . You'll be needing a rest before long!
Re: Purchasing 1st caravan
There’s no hard and fast rule. Obviously, a receipt and I would expect to receive evidence of servicing and all the instruction books/manuals. If there’s a warranty, you should have the paperwork for that and also any CRIS documents. It’s not the same as buying a car and there is no legal transfer/registration of ownership.
Re: CL of the Year Awards
@Skybarn Farm CL - beat you to it Nicola - by a few days! Can't say which one I nominated, though😎
Re: Pitch up and stay together!
I could probably think up a thousand “what if?” scenarios if I really felt like it. Uphill struggle for Club to try any innovation/ change around an entrenched mindset from some of the Membership. As pointed out, it will be at site staff discretion (heaven help them🥴) not every pitch, not every site, and possibly only when it’s feasible. It might just all work out very well if given a chance………..
Re: Croatia
I thought that perhaps there may have been some regulars on here that went regularly and could give me a feel for the weather, don't think it was that big an ask considering this is a camping forum, if you have not had any experience of Croatia then there was no need to reply to my post.
Regards
Re: What are you all up to
Home now from Islay, it was a good break. Smooth crossings both ways, weather mixed, but plenty to see. Visited a couple of the distilleries and did the tours, had lunch at one of them. Plenty of beaches for the boys to visit, great playpark not far from the house.
Re: What are you all up to
Ended up popping up to Christchurch today. Went into the cafe by the quay (of course)... lovely apple cake.. 😀

Re: What are you all up to
@milliehull it looks, from your grand photos, as if the weather was much better than forecast for you. Glad you are enjoying your stay at Heacham.
Hope that the day brightened up for you @DSB and you were able to get out somewhere.
More rain overnight for us although it was dry but cloudy this morning. OH took the opportunity to do another round of washing, caravan rugs this time, which we were able to get dried outside when we came back from our day out. We visited Clocaenog Forest and had a couple of walks, from the Bod Petryal car park. We did have a couple of short periods of drizzle when we were out but didn't really get wet. Bod Petryal means "rectangular dwelling" and is named after the old gamekeeper's cottage.
Re: Croatia
You mean you want someone on here to give you a weather forecast for Croatia two months ahead , based on what the weather was like in September several years ago when somebody else was there ? . Seems a big ask .
Just take the weather as it comes when you get there. You can’t change it. Have a good trip.
